CAPSTONE INTERNSHIP

Finance Intern for Medaasource
At Medasource, I work closely with the finance team on tasks related to expenses, payroll, and financial record accuracy. I regularly use systems such as Bullhorn, SAP Concur, and ADP to verify information, review receipts, and organize financial data for both consultants and internal employees. Through this role, I also assist with various projects that support team workflow, improve financial operations, and help ensure reports are processed accurately and on time.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes
Throughout my internship, I learned a lot about accuracy, attention to detail, and the importance of communication in a professional setting. I gained a better understanding of how the finance side of a company operates, especially when it comes to handling expense reports and financial documentation. I was expected to carefully review and process expense reports, ensure all required documentation was complete, and follow company policies for both internal employees and consultants. I also had to stay organized, meet deadlines, and ask questions whenever I was unsure about something.
I met expectations by consistently double-checking my work, staying organized with tracking and documentation, and using systems like ADP, Concur, and Bullhorn correctly. These tools helped me better understand how payroll, expenses, and project data are managed within the company. Whenever I needed clarification, I made sure to reach out to my team for guidance. Over time, I became more confident in my role and improved my ability to manage responsibilities independently while still maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
BULLHORN
Placement Support
Bullhorn is an example of a tool I used, which is an applicant tracking system (ATS) used to manage the recruitment process, including payroll and billing functions. During my internship, I used Bullhorn to support and review consultant placements by ensuring all information was accurate before final approval. This included verifying key placement details such as work location and home state, as well as checking pay and bill rate information for contract roles. Using the system helped me keep placement records organized and ensured that payroll and billing data were correct and aligned with company standards.

SAP CONCUR
Expense Report Review and Processing
SAP Concur is another example of a tool I used, which is an expense management system used to streamline travel, expense reporting, and invoice processing. During my internship, I used Concur to review and process expense reports for both internal employees and consultants, ensuring all submissions followed company policies and included accurate documentation. I also pulled and matched receipts for consultant expense reports, verifying details such as dates, amounts, and supporting information before approval.
